Maxi is from Bilbao, she is older than what her face reveals, but with far fewer years than her experiences suggests. She is always smiling and joking with great style. Maxi’s most attractive aspect is that she has amazing knowledge about the ancestral beauty.

Maxi was born in Bilbao, her grandparents had migrated to Cuba during the Spanish Civil War and returned to Bilbao before the revolution. Maxi is a perfect combination between Basque and American, as she defines herself.

She was raised with her grandparents in a small town of the Basque country, in which she was always surrounded by nature, she used to decorate her nails with rose petals and manufacture essences with dry flowers, since there she loomed not only with great sensitivity towards natural products but her great style.

A social phenomenon

Finishing her studies of Art and Decoration in Bilbao, in the eighties she moves to New York, where she becomes an interior designer of art galleries.

After she returns to her native city Bilbao, in company of her famous Basque musician husband, Gontzal Medibil and they create a Television program for TVE, which is about giving advice of Health and Beauty inspired by the recipes and remedies of her grandmother.

From there the idea surges and the program has a great amount of viewers which practically becomes a social phenomenon in Spain.

After she edits more than 20 book titles of the remedies from her Grandmothers pharmacy, DVD’s, magazines, among others. Afterwards she also focuses on the beauty and giving daily advice in her own program about the best secrets in order to look and feel better.

For Maxi, the secret of happiness was having a positive attitude. Maxi describes herself as: someone who made her dreams come true.

The most interesting part of talking with Maxi, is that she always impulses you to be better and not referring to the frivolous concept of beauty, she transmits joy, security.

Her office in Bilbao is a fascinating place, filled with plants, flowers, mixes and tests. There she has 2 biologist and a chemist full time that make her fantasies come true, that is why 7 years ago she created her natural cosmetic line to help solve skin and hair problems.

She always has advice to give you, even those who haven’t asked for it and with her great knowledge she has turned into one of the people that have the most knowledge about beauty and all with plants and flowers that can be found in the kitchen or in the garden.
