It is a &#8220;cool&#8221; theme. But beyond whether it is fashionable, if its trendy, if it makes you part of the cool kidas, it is a really important issue. It is important because all living beings have rights. No matter their origin, their race, gender or species.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">It is about the breed<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In this occasion we will talk about dangerous breed dogs. In Colombia, this issue is handled by the Police.<\/p>\n<p>The new Police Code has devoted a part of itslef to dogs of <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">&#8220;potentially dangerous breeds&#8221;<\/span> <\/strong>and has stablished a series of requirements for their owners.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4438\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4438\" style=\"width: 996px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_01-1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4438\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_01-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"996\" height=\"601\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It is important to bear in mind that the norm defines as a dangerous dog as <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">a dog that has had episodes of aggression against people or that has caused the death of other dogs.<\/span><\/strong> Also, dogs that have been trained to attack and defend themselves are also considered dangerous.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4440\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4440\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_02-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4440\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_02-1-300x482.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"482\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4440\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Now, it is necessary to understand that there are too many unscrupulous people who buy these dogs as puppies and mistreat them and educate them to attack.<\/p>\n<p>To teach them how to fight, how to defend themselves in this situation, <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">the treatment they are given is inhumane.<\/span><\/strong> They throw hot oil at them and when they are puppies they are locked up with bigger dogs so that they have to be forced to defend themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The breeds of dangerous dogs with their crosses or hybrids are the following: American staffordshire Terrier, Bullmastiff, Doberman, Argentine Dogo, Dogo bordeaux, Fila brasileiro, Neapolitan Menoastin, Bull terrier, Pit bull terrier, American pit bull terrier,<\/p>\n<p>, Staffordshire terrier and Japanese Tosa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">The house for hope (casa esperanza)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Well, after having drenched a little more about the issue of dangerous breeds in Colombia we decided to talk to <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Tatiana Moreno, founder of Casa Esperanza \u2013 Salvando Vidas<\/span><\/strong>. A foundation dedicated to saving the lives of dogs of dangerous breeds.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Solkes:<\/span><\/strong> How was this social project born?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Tatiana Moreno, founder Casa Esperanza:<\/span><\/strong> This project was born from the union of two friends who rescued independently and joined by love and passion for races considered as potentially dangerous.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Solkes:<\/span><\/strong> Why was it created?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Tatiana Moreno, founder Casa Esperanza:<\/span><\/strong> Due to the need to have a space of their own and aplace where the physical and emotional recovery of puppies that have been abandoned could take place. So that dogs that have found a new opportunity may find a responsible home. In addition to this we paid monthly payments for each of them and we came to the conclusion that having our own space could become more economical and we could house more puppies than we had at that moment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4441\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4441\" style=\"width: 996px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_03-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4441\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_03-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"996\" height=\"601\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4441\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The idea behind the foundations name was always very clear. <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">They wanted it to be something shocking.<\/span><\/strong> Something that would show what these women feel and what the dogs have meant to them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\"><strong>The foundation is named after one of the founders.<\/strong> <\/span>Esperanza Romero, has been the leader of this project and who now spends most of her life to raise these puppies victims of neglect, abuse, clandestine fights and exploitation.<\/p>\n<p>They want to<strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\"> save lives.<\/span><\/strong> Also to make people aware of the importance of <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">ADOPTION, of NON-ABANDONMENT<\/span><\/strong>, of respect for animals and especially for these battered races, to find beautiful and responsible homes for the 45 members of CASA DE ESPERANZA. Another objective is to make the corporation self-sustainable through the implementation of a dog daycare center, as profits would be invested in the maintenance expenses of the puppies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">The indifference<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I was impressed to learn that unlike what most people think. <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">B<\/span><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">reeds that are considered as potentially dangerous are suffering the most because of unethical and rotten people who have dedicated themselves to exploiting them.<\/span> <\/strong>In addition to this, they sell their offspring in an uncontrolled manner, making the abandonment rate increase daily. increasing day by day the abandonment rates.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_right\">\n<h4>Most of these puppies end up on the street sick or used for clandestine fights.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The objective is to dedicate help these animals because they consider them beautiful breeds, noble and loyal. They suffer so much and that is why they get help from this foundation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Solkes:<\/span><\/strong> What is the importance of defending and promoting these animals?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Tatiana Moreno, founder Casa Esperanza:<\/span><\/strong> The importance is the awareness that is created around people who have known and supported this project. The promotion of responsible adoption, the importance of not supporting the sale of lives, currently we have not seen the first race that will not be victimized, all races can be.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4444\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4444\" style=\"width: 996px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4444\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"996\" height=\"601\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4444\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Working with no budget<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This foundation works with &#8220;scraps&#8221;, basically no budget. <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">They use their own resources<\/span><\/strong>, maintenance (rent, worker, food or with a monthly fee that helps the expenses of the vast majority of these resources.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4445\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4445\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4445\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_06-300x482.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"482\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4445\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Almost all the cases are from the same town (USME) where the foundation is located. This location is one of the places with highest rate of abandonment for potentially dangerouse breeds.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the rest of the cases are reported on Facebook. If they can take care of them, they do.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly with a <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">veterinary consultation<\/span><\/strong> that allows us to establish the state of the animal. Then they are <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">vaccinated and sterilised.<\/span><\/strong> Then the <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">resocialization process begins.<\/span><\/strong> Most of them have behavioral problems as a result of their experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Solkes:<\/span><\/strong> What do we need to do as a society to help?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Tatiana Moreno, founder Casa Esperanza:<\/span><\/strong> It is the responsibility of the community to stop being a part of the explotation and abandonment problem by buying these dogs. More effective animal protection laws are desperately needed. The police has to help more, not only by imporsing the law but there should be a strict control and abolition of garage farms. They should be economical sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Achieving changes<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Until now, Casa Espernaza has achieved <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">responsible adoption processes for almost 72 animals since 2016.<\/span><\/strong> This animals have a new chance to live far away from the streets.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_left\">\n<h4>They have achieved the interest of people in this project and they have started volunteering.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Although they have done many things, I think they have a lot to do. For example, to adapt the facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Being able to build more pens that can comfortably house the puppies and hopefully be able to acquire the land on which the corporation is located. They are currently paying rent. Finding more homes for the dogs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\"><b>Obviously there are many problems <\/b><\/span>some of them are the indifference and cruelty. <strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">The thought that everything that happens is alien to us.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4443\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4443\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_04-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4443\" src=\"http:\/\/solkes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/1807_04-1-300x482.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"482\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4443\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fundaci\u00f3n Casa Esperanza \u00a9 Solkes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #138a8d;\">Laws are\u00a0<span style=\"caret-color: #138a8d;\">completely\u00a0<\/span>inefficient.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>There has yet to be a conviction because of animal abuse.\u00a0They have reported aberrant cases of sexual violence against animals in addition to the typical cases of abuse, mutilation and beatings but no one gets punished.<\/p>\n<p>Something that shocked me was to find out that the foundation has had dogs that have been victims of sexual violence by people. Moreno assured me that the look of those animals was pure fear and distrust.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"dropcap dropcap2\" style=\"color: #138a8d;\">T<\/span>o conclude we can only say that it is only necessary to say that we consider that it is really necessary to have control and care against animals that are possibly more dangerous for others.
